About the Role

We are seeking Study Skills Tutors all over the UK. However, our urgent areas include London, Huddersfield, Lincoln, Birmingham, Liverpool, Hatfield, Exeter, Southend-on-Sea, Newcastle and Chichester. Onyx Support are looking for a Study Skills Tutor who is enthusiastic and committed to their role. You will be working within the Universities and Further Education Colleges that Onyx Student Support work in partnership with.

You will be supporting students following requirements highlighted in the individuals assessments. You will ensure a high quality, positive service is provided which focuses on removing barriers that prevent students from participating in higher and further education. You must encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning and to develop their skills as far as possible. You will provide expertise in the area of study to help students to develop their learning strategies.

Requirements

Mandatory Requirements

You must hold a Degree and Teaching Qualification OR Professional Body membership with one of the following:

(PATOSS)

  • Full or associate membership

British Dyslexia Association (BDA)

  • Full professional membership

The Association of Dyslexia Specialists in Higher Education (ADSHE)

  • Professional membership

Dyslexia Guild-

  • Associate Member (ADG)

  • Associate Member (ADG FE/HE)

  • Member (MDG)

  • Fellow (FDG)


You must hold ASC Training to support students with ASC. Training can be provided.
